We like to keep tabs on power rankings. It's good fodder for conversation, maybe even adds a level of validation for some -- especially those that need others to see. And there is a certain amount of curiosity from most of us how specific things that others see.
Sports Illustrated released their preseason power rankings, listing the Cincinnati Bengals ninth.
If the Texans are the AFC team that just cannot break through, what's that make the Bengals, who were bounced by Houston in each of the past two postseasons? It might make them a team ready for Super Bowl contention itself, provided RB Giovani Bernard, TE Tyler Eifert and OLB (and longtime Steelers linchpin) James Harrison deliver.
The Ravens are ranked No. 1, but that's understandable in some circles who believe that the champions remain such until they're bounced. The Pittsburgh Steelers rank No. 16 and the Cleveland Browns, those poor Brownies, rank No. 28.
