Former Bengal Jamaal Anderson Signs With the Chicago Bears

Daniel Shirey-US PRESSWIRE

The former Bengals defensive end is getting a one-year opportunity in Chicago.

We like to keep up with former players and how they're doing in their post-Bengals careers. We'll run a veterans of Cincinnati (if only playing one-plus games) when we can.

Just over two weeks after being cut by the Bengals, defensive end Jamaal Anderson has agreed to a contract with the Chicago Bears, ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter tweets.

Anderson originally signed a two-year deal with the Bengals in 2012, but was placed on the Injured Reserve early during the season. As we pointed out when news broke of Anderson's departure from Cincinnati, the emergence of Wallace Gilberry (and his subsequent signing), along with Robert Geathers inevitably led to Anderson's release. Drafting the 6'8" behemoth Margus Hunt, and signing Michael Johnson to a franchise tender probably played a role in the decision as well.

The Bears will now be Anderson's fourth team since being drafted in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft.
