The Cincinnati Bengals had their biggest scare during the team's first training camp practice on Thursday when A.J. Green went up for a deep pass. Cornerback Terence Newman and Green were battling for the football down the sidelines.
According to multiple accounts, Green went up and landed hard on the ground. According to those accounts, trainers were looking at his knee and he's currently "limping a little." Green walked to the locker room under his own power with the team's medical staff.
Former Bengals defensive back Artrell Hawkins spoke with Green, who says he'll be ok but added that it felt similar to how he hyper-extended his knee against the Steelers in 2011.
Spoke w AJ says he believes he'll be ok. Felt like he hyper-extended his left knee, similar to injury he had his rookie year vs Steeler....— Artrell Hawkins Jr. (@artrellhawkins) July 25, 2013
Just had the first scare of camp. Green was down for a couple minutes after falling awkwardly going after a deep ball. Limping a little— Joe Reedy (@joereedy) July 25, 2013

Green is walking to the locker room. Again, walking and not being carted off— Joe Reedy (@joereedy) July 25, 2013

Not a fan of training camp all of the sudden. Story developing.
