Most national newspapers and news organizations are providing generic training camp previews for all 32 teams. They are mostly cited and referred to for the generic NFL fan; not the outrageously obsessive people that are all guts and even more glory with one specific team (aka, YOU!). Most previews will detail (again, generically) basic expectations and heartbeats for specific teams; from a Bengals perspective, not much being presented will be new for you.
But knowing how everyone loves to sink their teeth into anything, USA Today published their Bengals training camp preview on Sunday.
Not much is new. Andy Dalton needs to improve. Giovani Bernard and Tyler Eifert offer interesting scenarios at their respective positions. A.J. Green and the defensive line are awesome while the remaining core at wide receiver is pretty young. A position battle is developing at starting strong safety. Rey Maualuga will return as the middle linebacker but for how long?
Everything is in place as the young Bengals appear poised for a long run. Question is, have the Bengals done enough to eclipse the defending Super Bowl champion Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North to secure that home playoff game?
And to win a playoff game. Those are the questions.
