Rookie linebacker Bruce Taylor was a handful of undrafted free agents that the Cincinnati Bengals signed following the 2013 NFL draft. An honorable mention on the Coaches All-ACC team, Taylor generated 76 tackles with 10.5 credited as a loss and 5.5 as a quarterback sack.
Though the expectation is that Taylor will compete for an inside linebacker spot (most likely through special teams), Taylor told WPDE NewsChannel 15 that the Bengals have been working him at inside and outside linebacker. But he's also not delusional about his chances of making the roster and the realities of the practice squad.
"It's up in the air because they've got a bunch of young guys in this year, so they're trying to see what we're all going to do," said Taylor. "Some guys might make the 53-man (roster) this year, then some guys will end up being on the practice squad. It just depends on who performs the best going into these preseason games."
According to CarolinaLive.com:
Taylor still holds the Myrtle Beach High school record for most tackles for loss in a single season with a whopping 42 back in 2005.
My, oh my.
