The uncertainty surrounding Andrew Hawkins' injury last week was given a bit more clarity on Saturday before the Bengals took the field for their first practice since returning from Atlanta. Hawkins' ankle is in a cast, and head coach Marvin Lewis is saying that Hawkins is a potential candidate for IR recall.

The decision won't be made for some time, but Lewis says that Hawkins' cast will be removed in approximately ten days; at that point, the Bengals will make a decision on the wide receiver.
Only one player on any given roster is able to be placed on IR with a designation to return, and teams can't actually give a player that designation until after final cuts are made. If Hawkins is the lone player placed on IR with designation to return, he won't be able to see playing time for at least eight weeks into the regular season.
