Bengals establish the running game and take a 7-3 lead

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

The Bengals had a game-plan. Run a lot. And they did.

Brandon Tate more than likely has enough job security when the team makes final cuts on Saturday. But he's not playing like it. Following Indianapolis' field goal early in the first quarter, Brandon Tate took the ensuing kickoff 51 yards to the Colts 49-yard line, pushed out of bounds by Bob and Tom favorite Pat McAfee.

The Cincinnati Bengals wasted no time establishing the run, calling four straight runs split between BenJarvus Green-Ellis (seven and nine yards) and Giovani Beranrd (two and six yards) to the Colts 25-yard line. Andy Dalton takes the shotgun snap on third and two and flips the football to Mohamed Sanu (from the left slot), running a quick out. After shedding the tackle, Sanu picked up another chunk and gains 18 yards on the reception.

Power, baby.

The Colts were called for a pass interference on second and goal, putting Cincinnati at the one-yard line. Giovani Bernard followed John Conner, Clint Boling's pulling block, and Orson Charles block on the edge for the one-yard touchdown. His third of the season.

Green-Ellis and Bernard combined for 28 yards on six carries and a touchdown.
