If you're on Twitter, you can't avoid seeing the tweets. We even saw it during our show last week on Who-Dey Weekly. Why do so many Bengals fans believe Andy Dalton can't win a Super Bowl? Are you a Dalton Doubter or a Red Rifle supporter?
In Dalton's first two years in the NFL, he's 19-13. That more wins than Drew Brees (10), Peyton Manning (16), Brett Favre (17), John Elway (16), Eli Manning (12), all Super Bowl winning quarterbacks.
Dalton's 47 touchdowns to start his career trail only Dan Marino and Peyton Manning's first two seasons at QB.
How many Super Bowl rings did Joe Montana have? It's not like he had the strongest arm in the world, he had weapons around him. Very similar to what the Bengals have done through the draft this year. Great wideout in AJ Green, great tight ends in Gresham and potentially with Eifert, a quick running back in Bernard who can score from anywhere on the field.
I know it's easy as Bengals fans to put up our defense mechanisms so early in the year, but let's give the Bengals and Dalton the benefit of the doubt. I'd say they've earned it. Instead of being negative nancy's, let's get behind our quarterback. When he leads the Bengals to a Super Bowl win, I promise not to say I told you so.
What are your reasons for believing in Dalton? Or, if you're a Dalton doubter, tell us why you think he's not "the guy". Let the great debate begin!
