Several years back I remember reading about the Marvin giving the D-line tennis rackets to make it harder for Palmer to throw because whichever team we had that week batted more balls down than any other.
Ever since then I've wondered what other techniques they might use to make things harder in practice to prepare for the week ahead.
I always thought they should cover the ball in baby oil before practice, they'd definitely build better habits for holding on to it, Good for snaps, catches, handoffs and definitely keeping it high and tight. Sticky gloves give you the feel you can palm the ball and still hold on, a false sense of security, particularly when you're not in full contact practice. But if you cant hold the ball with one hand you'll build a better habit of keeping it in close and not swinging your arm out in the breeze.
What are some other seemingly unconventional methods you've heard of or thought of that help drive home certain skills?
