We Bengals fans have waited for a while to host a playoff game. Thanks to a reader's (MrMcLargeHuge's) comments I was reminded that we have hosted 2 others in the last 2 decades (thus the edit of this post). I had known this but overlooked it and appreciate his reminding me. But in spite of that we have complained in every conceivable way about not having a team to put on the field to give us winning seasons. We have run people down and griped more than any other group of fans in the NFL. Well we finally have what we wanted all these years and how do we react? We can’t even sell the tickets to a play-off game that we get to host right here in beautiful Cincinnati, where we get to show our support for what is arguably, one of the most well rounded teams in our history. If we don’t sell this game out, I wouldn’t blame the team or coaches or management for losing their motivation for putting a winning team on the field. To me, it is a disgrace if we can’t sell out a playoff game. If we don’t, then what have we been complaining about all these years? If we weren’t going to appreciate a winning season and a home playoff game, why complain? If we don’t sell out, I really hope to never hear anybody else ever complain again that the Bengals have any weaknesses. In my opinion, their only weakness is the fans. The team will never say it, but I am one of the fans. I will say it. We better be buying some tickets or we may never get another chance and who will be to blame? What do they have to work for if they can’t even get us to support them? It seems everything is getting fixed around here except for the attitude of the fans.
