Im using where the players fall on Drafttek.com for my rankings. Im sure there will be people who will go way higher, but I wanted a set board to go off of.
Round one- Stephon Tuitt-DE/DT-Notre Dame- With Gilbert, Dennard, and Verrett off the board Dline gets addressed. Tuitt can come in at any spot on the dline and help ease the loss of MJ, and move inside in the nickle next to Geno.
Round two- Travis Swanson-C-Arkansas- Replace Cook and give the offensive line 0 weak links. Would make the best offensive line in the NFL hopefully. That should give Andy all the time in the pocket he needs, as well ss open up holes for Hues running game.
Round three- Loucheiz Purifoy-CB-Florida- Bengals get a playmaking corner even after waiting till round three. Purifoy has the skills to develop into a very good corner in the NFL, hopefully with the great coaches he has here he puts them together and that happens. Was considering McGill, but havent seen enough of him personally.
Round four- Jimmy Garoppolo-QB-Eastern Illinois- I know he probably wont be here, but im sticking with drafttek. Gives a qb who can develop and push Andy. Will give the Bengals a much better backup option than Johnson.
Round five- Andre Williams-RB-Boston College- A change of pace to Gio, and an eventual replacement to BJGE.
Round six- Caraun Reid-DT-Princeton- another player on the dline. Can add a pass rush inside next to Geno. Tuitt-Reid-Geno-Dunlap, then add in Gillberry, Hunt, Still, Thompson and the Bengals may have even upgraded the DLine.
Round 7- Austin Wentworth-LT-Fresno st- A left tackle project since we lost Fragle.
