Fanspeak Draft

Let me preface this by saying I was not going to make fanpost for these mocks as they are highly dependent on a computer analyst and info that was put into a system by draft gurus. Which in my mind means there are rooms for errors. Fanspeak just updated their info this afternoon complete with post Senior Bowl and Shrine Game results. This has largely changed the mocks. I think it is better than it was before.

With that being said I absolutely love this draft.

1st round:

24: CB JUSTIN GILBERT, OKLAHOMA STATE

I think we really should look at drafting a corner here. Especially with the talent available. I like Gilbert and Verret out of the Big 12 as that is a pass happy conference and I think they will both come in and contribute right away. Love Dennard but from MSU, but he's likely long gong by 24.

2nd round:

55: DT WILL SUTTON, ARIZONA STATE

Short DT being named a Geno Atkins clone. Yeah that's right imagine two Geno's. He's short but gets off the ball quickly and is hella strong. Yeah sounds familiar I know. Gilberry could stay doing what he does best as a DE even if MJ leaves with what would one helluva strong DT with out other DTs.

3rd round:

88: CB STANLEY JEAN- BAPTISTE, NEBRASKA

Coming on as a fan favorite, but that's for good reason. He's a bigger corner and plays physical. I really liked how he shined in the Senior Bowl practices. Double dipping at CB will also give us lotsa young talent at the position which is needed because we got some older models who need upgrading.

4th round:

119: QB JIMMY GAROPPOLO, EASTERN ILLINOIS

The QB who will push Dalton and also give us a boost as a backup. Very well could become a starter in this league with some time as a backup to get to know the pro game.

5th round:

152: C TYLER LARSEN, UTAH STATE

The center help we are all clamoring for. Good for competition and depth at the position. I actually really like him as he got lotsa honors and started lotsa games. Quick off the ball and makes all the blocking calls. Comes from good bloodlines and could upgrade the position.

6th round:

183: DE AARON LYNCH, USF

Not a lot known here but he's got good heighth and you know we love tall DE. Productive at USF and he's young so we can mold into a beast. Needs to add a few more pounds but won't need to be depended on right away.

7th round:

216: OT JUSTIN BRITT, MISSOURI

Projecting to go in the 5-6 rounds. Not much know here either. He's got NFL smarts for a tackle and he was 1st team all SEC his senior year. Helped to resurge the Mizzou offense this year. Could be a steal at 216.

I know some will have some criticisms about this draft so feel free to share. I just really liked this draft and would be stoked if the our picks went something like this.
