Bengals WR Marvin Jones record-breaking performance

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones broke a 31-year old playoff record during Sunday's loss to the San Diego Chargers.

Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise murky offensive showing during the team's 27-10 loss to the San Diego Chargers.

Jones caught eight passes for 130 yards receiving, setting a franchise record for most yards receiving in a playoff game. The record that the second-year receiver broke has stood since '82 when Cris Collinsworth generated 120 yards receiving against the New York Jets -- another one-and-done season.

"I don't really care about that," said Jones, via Bengals.com. "I just wanted to win."

Well, said.

Jones had one of the highlights of the game, hauling in a 49-yard reception with 2:28 remaining in the second quarter that reached San Diego's 16-yard line. It didn't translate to a score after Giovani Bernard fumbled the football at the four, giving the Chargers the football back after the two minute warning.

The second-year receiver led the team in receptions (8) and yards receiving (130), as well as total targets (12), following by Giovani Bernard (seven receptions, 73 yards receiving) and Jermaine Gresham (seven receptions, 64 yards receiving).

A.J. Green finished with three receptions for 34 yards on nine targets, continuing a string of forgettable performances in the postseason. Combining all three playoff games since joining the league in 2011, Green has combined for 13 receptions, 161 yards receiving and zero scores.
