Want to help us out? An invite to CJ members

I wanted to put a call out to the locals (you guys) to see if anyone wants to help us out. It's getting to the point in the year that news will slow to a crawl and that the NFL draft and free agency speculation will be picking up soon. Plus I'd like to rebuild our overall staff and thought you guys would like the opportunity. There are obvious advantages to writing front page stories (feeds are sent through major sports outlets, plus local papers due to SB Nation partnerships). I've also been able to promote several of my writers to part-time gigs with SB Nation as NFL and Fantasy writers.

NOTE: I'm only offering this invitation towards the community and not someone off the street. In a Marvin Lewis world, I'm sticking with the comfort of home rather than a street free agent. So if you're not an active community member, or reader, then don't bother applying.

Here are a few spots we're looking at.

NFL Draft: We're looking for people (a collection of them) that will help us identify needs, examine possible selections, work up mock drafts, and draft reports for prospects.

NEWS: Due to the staff being somewhat understaffed and stretched thin, we need another pair of eyes on searching for news, articles of interest that are specific to the Bengals and other internet-scouring items. If you have strong writing skills, and a history of writing on relevant and timely news, let me know.

Daily Links: Some of you notice that on most days, there are, what we in industry call a link dump. They are a collection of stories of interest from the writer. During the season we usually had Bengals-related links. However, during the offseason, the interest will expand. This is something I'd like to get off my table. We actually have a tool that does most of the work for you.

Feature Writer: This is a one-per-week type of writing, something significant to a major story and overall reaction to that story and/or a collection of stories.

If people are wanting to help us out, here's how.

For a feature writer, draft writer, or someone that wants to write news, we'd like for you to start posting FanPosts (while leaving a writer's note in the introduction that you're interested). We'll read them but we'd like a few of them before we start judging/grading. I know there's a few people that are already doing this, but due to company rules, I'm not allowed to directly contact someone without being initiated first. So if, you know, some Texas folk, who have already posted stories in the fanpost are genuinely interested, send me an email.

If you're interested in other things, let us know, either via email or in the comments section.

Remember, this invite is only going to the community so if you're not an active member (must have signed up, done some comments, etc...), then don't worry about it.

And right now, there is no immediate compensation for right now but may change based on your work, enthusiasm to generate stories of interest, etc...

If you can, rec'd this posting so that it stays on top for many beautiful eyes to read.

This is a FanPost and does not necessarily reflect the views of Cincy Jungle's writers or editors. It does reflect the views of this particular fan though, which is as important as the views of Cincy Jungle's writers or editors.
