Due to what is available on the free agency market, and what is available vía trade, we should let Andy Dalton play out his contract. No reliablemstarters are available. Most we can do is give Jamarcus Russell and Michael Vick a look(when the eagles cut him) but none of them are guarantees to be better than Dalton.
Cousins and Mallett can be had for second rounders, but have we seen enough to spend that on them? I think not after not seeing much of Mallet and seen how Cassell and Matt Flynn ended up. and Cousins didnt do good at the end of this season against bad teams. In the draft we arent in a good position and only see us drafting a QB early if Bortles or Manziel fell to us a la Aaron Rodgers. or Tajh Boyd or Mettenberger in the 2nd.
Most likely get a QB from 4th round and up. Who knows, maybe Dalton gets it in the offseason and turns a córner and becomes good. Not that I know he will but well be in a better position next year. There are good QBs as Mariotta and Hundley stayed and there is the lid from Baylor. We will be in a better position to trade up because of the 3rd or 4th round compensatory pick from Michael Johnson leaving.
This year we can make the Defense better in the draft, drafting a CB, DE, and LB in first three rounds and hopefully scoring a starting center in the 4th. But we should for now extendí AJ and Burfict as those two are the team. and hopefully resign collins and vincent rey, and Hawkins amingst others. And hopefully we can get an electric retuurn man in 5th or 6th round.
I know people like to laugh at my username , but i got it the day after they drafted dalton, but all im sayin is the next offseason is a better time to act on it because there are better FA QBs, same quality QB draft class, and we have more amunition to trade up and we can franchise tag Gresham, and resign mauluga and Domata Peko as ''priorities.'' As we wont franchise anyone this year. Maybe MJ93, but i doubt it.
