After the emotions of another one & done play-off loss died down. The reality set in. Even though the last game was a letdown, the 2013 season was exciting for numerous reasons.
The Bengals did improve over last season. Mabey all the players we lost to injuries during the year, finally caught up to us. Personally I thought our defense got tired & overextended down the stretch. Too many key players playing every snap, or close to it. Our vaunted D-line rotation was not available. Too much injuries to top DB's. No one to give Burfict a much needed breather once & awhile.
All our skill players on offense are young & still developing. They will get better, it takes time. Our O-line got banged up at the end too. We got a good foundation, we just need to add to it.
As far as coaching, one wish I have is to see what Hue Jackson could do as Offensive coordinator. Never was a fan of arena Jay. To me he seems in over his head in the NFL.
I have been a fan over 30 years now. Been through 2 SuperBowls & lots of loosing. The past 3 years have been alot better than the 20+ before. Even though this year ended on a bad note, the future is bright for this team. Post-season sucess is on the horizon. Keep the faith. Who-Dey forever.
