I am very proud of this organization, and that's because our front office is doing things a little differently than most sports organizations. We lost two coordinators, but we filled the positions with worthy in house candidates. Our coaches and players are standing behind Andy Dalton, when it would be VERY easy for them to deflect blame onto his shoulders. The focus is the same as last off season.....sign our guys, let them grow, draft effectively. We do not have to cut locker room guys due to cap issues like most teams. We have cap space, and will use it to take care of the players that deserve raises and extensions.
I was down on the front office last off season until the Smith signing. I see how wrong I was now. The front office is building an organization that is sustainable (maybe to avoid another decade like the 90's). Whatever the reason, some fans might say we aren't built to WIN, but we will be there at the end. And if we compete with character, then I say that is a VERY BIG win in this ego driven society where winning is everything.
Im proud to wear the "B" now! And that's due to the front office, and a more substantive approach to conducting a sports organization...one in which integrity drives decisions. I trust that overall good decisions will be made, and we will have a team worth standing behind.
