NFL News: Eagles may sign Mark Sanchez; Raiders parting with Terrelle Pryor

Within a week, Terrelle Pryor may be out of work while Mark Sanchez is employed.

The Philadelphia Eagles are on the verge of signing quaterback Mark Sanchez.

Now that he's cleared waivers after the Jets released him, Sanchez looks likely to end up in Philly and backup Nick Foles. He missed the entire 2013 season with a shoulder labrum injury, and he's only about 80% healed right now.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Giants "should be in the mix" for Sanchez as well.

As of now, defensive tackle Vince Wilfork is just waiting for the New England Patriots to release him.

Wilfork angrily cleaned out his locker and "ripped his name plate off his locker stall" after the Patriots approached him about reworking his contract. He tore his Achilles last year in September and missed the rest of the season. Despite this, he'll be one of the top free agents left if he is cut.

Oakland Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie confirmed backup QB Terrelle Pryor will "likely be traded or released soon."

He started nine games last season before losing his job to rookie Matt McGloin. Pryor also missed three weeks in the middle of the season with a knee injury. He finished the year with 576 rushing yards but threw 11 interceptions against seven touchdowns to go with 1780 passing yards.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed Colts owner Jim Irsay will be subject to discipline after his arrest for driving while intoxicated and felony drug possession.

"We obviously will want to understand the facts before we take any steps as it relates to any potential discipline," Goodell said. "But obviously any policies, or any laws that are broken, whether you’re commissioner, owner, player or coach, those are subject to discipline."

Irsay has already checked himself into a rehab facility, but Goodell reiterated that everyone, including NFL executives, are subject to league discipline.
