I'm usually not a fan of what Walt has to say about the Bengals at all, but his mock that came out today was surprisingly really good for us imo, assuming MJ is re-signed.
Round 1: Darqueze Dennard, CB, Michigan St
Don't even need to do a breakdown of this. If he's on the board at 24 it would be an excellent selection.
Round 2: Kyle Van Noy, LB, BYU
Van Noy is an extremely talented outside backer, and would be a good value pick. Could easily be the BPA here (if he doesn't come of the board before this). Now, like I said before, I'd rather not draft a LB this high unless Harrison (who played decently last season) is cut. We have a lot of young talent that I don't want to lose, but I'm all for upgrading/replacing Harrison with so few needs.
Round 3: Travis Swanson, C, Arkansas
I have previously stated that I'm not a huge fan of the C class. I wouldn't take Swanson any higher than this, however, I kind of like the pick at this point in the Draft.
Round 4: Antonio Richardson, OT, Tennesse
I really don't think he falls THIS far, and I'd happily take him earlier. Would be a great pick and extremely great value. Sit him behind Whit and let him take over once Whit moves on. Can backup both LT and RT until then.
Round 5: David Fales, QB, San Jose St
I like it. There are a few guys I'd prefer over Fales, but I still like him and think he'd be a solid backup to Andy.
I'm really surprised Walt put together such a good mock from a Bengals standpoint. What do you guys think?
