I am curious of what you all would think if this was the result of our draft this year. I give my reasoning on the picks and really just find it fun. Here is the website if you want to play the NFL draft pick game:
Round 1 Pick 24: Justin Gilbert, CB, Oklahoma State (A)
- We are in clear need for a solid CB in this next draft and with Dennard off the board, I think Gilbert is the clear next choice. (I do think Verrett, Fuller, and Joyner are good options as well, but not this high.)
Round 2 Pick 23: Ed Reynolds, FS, Stanford (A)
- I think Ed Reynolds is a good guy to grab to move around in the secondary as he has the capabilities to do so. He is good in run support as well. Though we do not necessarily have an issue at safety with the development of Iloka getting better, as well as Shawn Williams, Reynolds was BPA here.
Round 3 Pick 24: Jeremy Hill, RB, LSU (A)
- I like RB's like BJGE because they are solid and reliable, but I do not think he will be around forever and I think Jeremy Hill can fill that dual role with Gio, and more. I like Peerman and Rex, but do not think they are what we are looking for at RB, while Jeremy Hill is a guy that will make plays I think.
Round 4 Pick 23: Shayne Skov, ILB, Stanford (A)
-I think Vinny Rey will get snatched up, but besides the point, it doesn't seem they will move Tez to ILB, so this is a guy that I believe can surpass Rey Maualuga, and Shayne brings an edge to the team like Tez does. These guys would be an amazing tandem to have together.
Round 5 Pick 24: Aaron Murray, QB, Georgia (A)
-Lets be honest, we need a backup QB, the Bengals are huge fans of Georgia players, and they have interest in Aaron specifically. The guy can make any throw, is smart, and could quite possibly challenge Andy. I like Andy a lot, but think he needs a good kick in the pants.
Round 6 Pick 23: Vinnie Sunseri, SS, Alabama (A)
-Vinnie is a former coach's son and has all the smarts you look for in an NFL player. May be a guy who knows the game like Chris Crocker, but is a little more athletic.
Round 7 Pick 24: Kevin Norwood, WR, Alabama (A)
-I have seen this guy play and if anything is to take away from his play, is that he is both clutch and sure to catch the ball. I don't think I have ever seen him drop one. I like Cobi Hamilton, whom we drafted last year, but Kevin is a guy who can play the 2, 3, or 4 wide, so if someone picks up Andrew Hawkins off RFA, then this guy (though a completely different style...and size... player) can step in for sure.
Anyways, tell me what ya think, be honest. It is all for fun so if you have a problem with a certain guy than give me your thoughts.
