Eugene Monroe wants $10 million per season

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

There could be an impact if a team is willing to surpass the $10 million mark for Monroe.

If the Baltimore Ravens want to re-sign offensive tackle Eugene Monroe, it could cost them $10 million per season, according to Matt Zenitz with the Carroll County Times.

In relation to Anthony Collins, who appears to be perceived as the cheapest solution among the more elite free agent offensive tackles, Monroe would be the ceiling. However, if the Ravens capitulate to the demand, then Collins may inch himself closer outside of Cincinnati's price range.

Andrew Whitworth, the team's starting left tackle until last season, will earn $5 million in 2014 and 2015. Andre Smith is scheduled to earn $3 million and $4.6 million over the final two seasons of his existing contract (aka, '14 and '15).

If you factor bonuses and base salary, Whitworth is earning $9.765 million per season. Smith is $6 million per year. Cincinnati is likely more comfortable with Smith's annual salary as opposed to Whitworth, but if Monroe surpasses the $10 million mark, it may make it difficult on the team to re-sign Collins.
