Eugene Monroe "unlikely to return" to the Baltimore Ravens

Mitch Stringer-USA TODAY Sports

Contract negotiations have stalled and the veteran offensive tackle is going to check out his market value in free agency.

Offensive tackle Eugene Monroe is "unlikely to return" to the Baltimore Ravens now that contract negotiations have completely stalled, writes Matt Zenitz with the Carroll County Times.

Retaining Monroe was one of Baltimore’s biggest priorities entering the offseason, but negotiations between the Ravens and Monroe have reached a standstill, per sources. According to a source, Monroe wants a long-term contract worth around $10 million annually. Baltimore wants Monroe for closer to $8 million or $9 million annually.

While Monroe's inclusion into the league's pool of unrestricted free agent offensive tackles, it also creates an opening that may include Anthony Collins as a viable candidate in Baltimore.

"Branden Albert and Jared Veldheer will both likely command big money in the range of what Monroe is seeking, but Anthony Collins from the Cincinnati Bengals could be a fit for the Ravens," writes Zentiz.

Cincinnati is expected to make a final push to get Collins signed on Friday but no has been reached.
