NFL Trade Rumors: Brandon Graham and Dion Jordan swap?

Rich Schultz

The Eagles may ship Brandon Graham out of Philly. The Bengals may be someone to watch out for to land him.

Despite acquiring Dontay Moch via waivers and signing Sam Montgomery to a deal, the Cincinnati Bengals are still very much in the market for a defensive end. One player who they could look to trade for that probably won't cost much is Philadelphia Eagles defensive end/linebacker Brandon Graham.

According to Tim McManus of Philly Mag, the Eagles have tried to trade Graham - along with their first-round pick - to the Miami Dolphins for former No. 3 overall pick Dion Jordan:

It does not appear Brandon Graham is the answer. As we've discussed previously, the Eagles recognize at this point that he is best suited for a 4-3 and are open to moving him if the price is right. Bob Grotz's report that the Eagles offered Graham and a second-round pick for Dion Jordan is no surprise to us. We have heard similar whispers and agree with the sentiment that Graham and the No. 22 overall pick gets it done.

Graham came out of Michigan as one of the best outside pass rushers in college football in 2010, but his career in Philadelphia has been hindered by the lingering impact of a knee injury that ended his 2011 season after three games.

Graham enjoyed his best run as a pro in 2012, as his 5.5 sacks on the season tied for the team lead. He spent this past season trying to make a conversion to outside linebacker.

That didn't go well, as he played in all 16 games without a single stat and registered just 15 tackles and three sacks.

He's a DE at heart, and the Bengals may be able to make him a solid contributor in a situational pass-rusher role.

That is, if he ends up not being part of the Eagles' attempted trade to get Jordan from the Dolphins.
