Cincy Jungle Writer's Mock Draft: Tampa Bay Buccaneers on the Clock

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The Bucs are on the clock, and they look to upgrade their offense with the 7th-overall pick.

Time for the latest edition of the Cincy Jungle Writer's Mock Draft. Be sure to keep up with all of the picks in a out stream page.

Next up are the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who are in need of an upgrade at several spots on offense.

Mickey: Buccaneers take Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson

Tampa Bay needs a threat to compliment Vincent Jackson and achieve that with the best receiver in the draft. I could see the Bucs taking a shot on one of the top lineman, but with Greg Robinson and Jake Matthews gone the Bucs will give Josh McCown another target. After a lot of activity in free agency, the Bucs have the luxury of getting a wide receiver here and making their passing game that much better.

Anthony: Buccaneers take Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A& M:

The third Aggie is off of the board within the first seven picks if the draft. Yes, the Bucs signed Anthony Collins away from the Bengals this offseason, but when you look at the roster, there isn't another viable tackle aside from AC. They have potential limitations at quarterback and would undoubtedly love to get Doug Martin back in track and Matthews would provide that.

This pick works because Collins could play either tackle spot. Khalil Mack, Teddy Bridgewater or a wide receiver are also options at this point, but with those positions being a little deeper at this point, I think Matthews is the pick here.

Jason: Buccaneers take Sammy Watkins, WR, Clemson

After trading Mike Williams away, it's Vincent Jackson and a bunch of guys as far as the Bucs' receivers go. That would dramatically change quickly with the addition of Watkins, giving the Bucs one of the best WR duos in the league.

Watkins would also fit perfectly with the Bucs, as his game is more predicated on getting the ball in his hands on short-to-intermediate routes and then aming guys miss in space.

That goes great with Jackson, who's more of a deep threat and would stretch the field to allow Watkins to terrorize defenses underneath.
