So here is the big question today, what do the Bengals do with the 24th pick?
I know that a lot of people think the Bengals need to go DB in the first round but is it really true? The Bengals ranked 3rd on Tot Def, 5th in Pass Def, and 5th in Rush Def. The biggest blow to the Bengals D was losing Johnson. Prior to the injury Leon Hall looked to be one of the best CB that year and Terrence Newman was playing much better than he did the year before. Yes the age of our secondary is certainly getting up there but from what I saw on Dre last year he looked much better than that Dallas Cowboys preseason game. Then on the flip-side 4 of the CB on the Bengals roster have been selected in the first round.
I'm not so sure that DE is a good choice for first round either. I don't see BPA being a DE and really don't want the Bengals to reach for a player they could get by trading down and racking up more picks. When Marqus Hunt was splitting time with Gillberry at the NE game, he had Tom Brady on the ropes a lot of the times he was in. I was very impressed with how quick he could get through the OL. Only knock on Hunt was that he would pull up before sacking the quarterback. He's a player I wish would just become more fierce and not be afraid to hit the opposing team.
I see the Bengals drafting either a WR, LB, or DT. If the BPA is CB (Fuller, Dennard, Gilbert) I don't see the Bengals missing a chance to get them. What do you think the Bengals will do with the 24th pick?
