The New Orleans Saints, picking No. 27 in the 2014 NFL draft, decided to get involved earlier by reaching an agreement with the Arizona Cardinals in a trade. Both teams swapped first-round picks -- the Cardinals getting No. 27 and the Saints grabbing No. 20 -- with Arizona acquiring New Orleans third-round pick.
There was a feeling that the Green Bay Packers, who lost James Jones, and the Philadelphia Eagles were looking at Brandin Cooks. So the Saints leapfrogged 'em all and snagged Cooks for themselves. Cooks, despite just shy of 5-foot-10, is a burner who ran a Combine-best (among receivers) 40-time at 4.33.
