The Bengals have some players that can be great additions to your fantasy football team. A.J Green is by far the best player fantasy wise, but many others can be good or great too.
Giovani Bernard is one of those players. Last season, Giovani was a back-up to the ground-pounding BJGE. He didn't have a whole lot of fantasy value at the start of the year. Over the first nine games of the 2013 NFL season, Bernard was averaging only 12.33 touches per game.
As the season progressed, Gio started getting more and more snaps per game.Over the final eight games, Bernard averaged 16.75 touches per game, including 19 in the Wildcard playoff game.
Now, nearing training camp for the 2014-2015 season, Giovani has a great chance of being the starting HB at week 1.
Gio was very efficient with the ball in his hands, and rarely turned it over. He had 226 touches, yet fumbled only twice. That shows how disciplined Bernard is with the ball in his hands.
If you are able to pick Gio in your fantasy draft, my advice is not to put him as your #1 in your HB slot. If your league has a HB/WR/TE slot, put him there. Not that Gio will be a player you should pass up. Gio will probably have some inconstant games during the year.
Also, with rookie RB Jeremy Hill coming in, Gio will probably be splitting snaps with him for much of the year, at least starting Week 1. And we cant forget BJGE, who will probably slide in at the #3 HB on the roster.
Giovani will be a great addition for your fantasy team. But he will have some weeks with 8 or less points. Make sure you know this when deciding your roster before game day.
