After Marvin Jones, Andy Dalton and Taylor Mays attended a Clipper's game together earlier this week, Jones and Dalton also worked out together at USC yesterday. And, the Bengals' wide receiver group will be in California together on Sunday for more practice time together, according to an Instagram comment from Jones in response to comedian Gary Owen, who wants to join in on the action. It's great to see Dalton and the WR group joining together to workout during the offseason and work on the never-ending battle of NFL players - cough, Dalton - trying to improve.
This isn't the first time the quarterback-receiver duo have worked out together during the offseason. But hopefully, this time went more smoothly than the last, which resulted in an ankle injury for Jones that held him out from playing at the beginning of last season, before a second foot injury led him to missing the entire season.
It's possible that the duo were working out with Tom House, who Dalton worked with last season and who AJ McCarron is also training with this offseason. House is currently on the coaching staff of the USC Trojans baseball team and has worked with a number of quarterbacks including Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Carson Palmer, Matt Cassel and Alex Smith.
We're not sure what kind of advice Jones got during his time practicing with Dalton at USC, but today on his way to San Diego, Jones explored a different hobby, and potentially a post-football career path in singing.
Hey, he's not bad.
