Even though the Bengals have consistently broken our hearts over the years, they still know how to reel in the Who Dey faithful every season. In fact, in honor of Valentine’s Day, one of the topics on this week’s Orange and Black Insider program revolved around what we love about the Bengals, despite the fact that they keep leaving all of us wanting more.
Aside from being festive for Cupid’s Day in February, Scott Schultze and I continued our positional analyses with the wide receiver and tight end spots. The team has some big decisions to make in each group. Were some of the struggles we saw in the Bengals’ 2016 offense because of injuries to two of their biggest stars in A.J. Green and Tyler Eifert, or was it a perfect storm of a new coordinator and three new wideouts acclimating to new roles?
Another regular staple of OBI has been in our fielding of fan questions. One of the things we love about Bengals fans is their intense knowledge of the franchise, the prospects in the NFL Draft and their fervent attitudes about the team improving. This has subsequently bled into our show, given the big number of insightful questions we’ve received in the show’s history.
We answered a number of great questions from our listeners, ranging from mock drafts to certain free agents who may or may not improve their team. Which position should the Bengals address at No. 9 overall? How high of a priority should wide receiver be in 2017? Is the recently-released Victor Cruz an answer to the woes from the 2016 Cincinnati offense?
