With their third pick in the fourth round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals selected Michigan defensive tackle Ryan Glasgow.
Glasgow played 45 games at Michigan with 33 starts. He shared the 2015 and 2016 Richard Katcher Awards as Michigan's top defensive lineman with another 2017 draft pick, Chris Wormley. Glasgow is a 6-foot-4, 299 pound threat who was All-Big Ten second team in 2016 and a Burlsworth Trophy semifinalist in 2015, an award that goes to a player who started his career as a walk-on.
Glasgow was an offensive guard in high school who received offers from North Dakota State and Illinois State but went to Michigan as a walk on instead. That ended up working out for him as he secured a starting job as a sophomore and has now worked his way into the NFL as a Bengals draft pick in Round 4.
Glasgow played in the 2017 Senior Bowl after a standout senior season in which he racked up recorded 42 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 4 sacks and 1 forced fumble.
His older brother Graham Glasgow was a third round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft and started 11 games at offensive guard for the Detroit Lions last season.
Ryan is known for his motor, competitive spirit and terrific attitude that won-over the coaching staff at Michigan. He’s not a great pass rusher but the Bengals just selected to players in Rounds 3 and 4 to help out there in Jordan Willis and Carl Lawson.
The Bengals get bigger, tougher and deeper with this selection, especially after the additions of Willis and Lawson.
What do you think of this pick by the Bengals, their third in Round 4?
