Cleveland Browns To Interview Patriots Offensive Coordinator Josh McDaniels Saturday

Justin Edmonds

The Cleveland Browns are once again in the market for a head coach and they have their eyes set on current Patriots offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels.

It's almost becoming an annual tradition for the Cleveland Browns to be in the market for a head coach of their team. When they're not searching a head man, they are partaking in their other annual tradition of attempting to find a franchise quarterback. The cellar-dwellars of the AFC North are in the unlucky predicament of needing both for 2014.

They are on the warpath of finding the right head coach this time around though, and multiple sources say that the team is interviewing current Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on Saturday. With their current bye week, McDaniels is allowed to interview with teams, unlike those coordinators participating in Wild Card Weekend.

if you remember, McDaniels got a shot at a head coaching gig in Denver which started out with a bang and ended with a fizzle-out. As a rookie head coach in 2009, McDaniels' Broncos shot out to a 6-0 start, but ended the season 8-8 and missed the playoffs. His big "claims to fame" in Denver was his drafting of Tim Tebow in the first round, as well as trading quarterback Jay Cutler and wide receiver Brandon Marshall. McDaniels was fired after the 2010 season, spent a year in St. Louis with the Rams and then re-united with Bill Belichick in New England.
