Any News of other draft pick signings??
As of today both Melvin Ingram and Quinton Coples have both signed there is no reason Dre Kirkpatrick shouldn't be signed sealed and delivered by weekends end. They have the pick before and after him to compare to. Also I would love to see Kevin Zeitler signed too...They were making great progress signing players and then all at once it stopped. Besides the 1st round picks signing its time to re-up with both Marvin and ZImmer their contracts are coming to an end...I would love to see Zimmer become head coach; I think Marvin has pointed us in the right direction but I believe Zim could take us to the next level...Alot contracts are up this year and that means contract years which usually means players above average seasons. Would love to see Rey prove us all wrong and have a monster season at MLB and I see this happening; he hears the rumors and grumblings; he will play with a chip on his shoulder all season...Here's to a Great Season!!! Who Dey!!
Heard the song "Bennie and the Jets" today at work, and it got me thinking.
Anyone else remember Bennie "and his jets" Brazell? A guy who was a glorified track star that the Bengals drafted in the late rounds (seventh, I think?) has us all aflutter about the guy's potential. Guys, a few short years ago THAT'S what we were excited about.
I think it's pretty gorram telling that now we have a team that has been in the playoffs for two of the past three years, and we're excited about draftees like Dre Kirkpatrick, Kevin Zeitler, Devon Still, Orson Charles, Brandon Thompson, Marvin Jones and George Iloka. These players are being added into the mix with players like Andy Dalton. AJ Green. Geno Atkins. Carlos Dunlap. Michael Johnson. Jermaine Gresham. Andrew Whitworth. Not to mention our free agent acquisitions this year.
Man. What a turnaround. This team is going to make some serious noise this year, and you can take that to the bank.

Who Is RB/FB Jourdan Brooks?
I was curious with the lack of information I've been able to locate on Jourdan Brooks, what type of player he is. I was able to find one highlight video of his time at Rutgers, and another video of him and a couple other Rutgers players. He looks like a big, strong back who can run between the tackles and move the pile. Due to the lack of information, I queried Josh Buchanan, an analyst who concentrates on small schools, and here is what he said.

Why does everyone on Cincy Jungle hate B. Scott?
I just don't understand... One down year in a brand new offense and everyone here thinks he's worse than Cedric Benson! Even worse, it seems like nobody thinks he even deserves a spot on our roster! Come on guys... He will be on our 2012 roster.
More former top 10 draft picks...
So as many of us glance over the roster with giddiness and glee due to the nearly perfect streak of positive moves over the past couple months...we all recognize running back might be the biggest hole left. The argument can absolutely be made our roster is fine with the guys we have at the spot currently. Also, looking at the Super Bowl it's hard to find a stud running back even among the participants for the past several years. Clearly, AP, MJD, Arian Foster type guys are just an added bonus, but sans a stellar passing game and defense, cellar dwellers you stay.
A bunch of solid to good guys are left out there that might add the small amount of carries and extreme amount of experience...as well as a good influence on both players and staff...wanted to get the smart folks' thoughts and opinions on possibly adding just such a guy:
Should maualuga start house shopping in Seattle
I believe the fact he is from Eureka, and the package came from there, concerns the Bengals, no proof, but have no doubt Luke was a draft day target. He continues to have alcohol related problems, which goes way back. He was quite defensive at the talk, about drafting am MLB and has serious character issues. Speaking of players with character issues, If Burfict continues changing his body composition, he will move even better. His adversity could straighten him out. They love dat money. Reupping Ray talk has died down. Is he out after this season?
First Round CB’s…how have Dre Kirkpatrick’s predecessors panned out?
Over the last half decade there have been 25 DB’s (17 CB and 8 S) drafted in round 1 (out of a possible 159 picks...16%). This year’s first round pick of the Cincinnati Bengals, Dre Kirkpatrick finds himself following in their steps as another 1st round CB selection. So how have the previous CB’s drafted in round 1 panned out?
.
Here are the CB’s drafted in round 1 since 2007.

Dexter McCluster anyone?
I read on Rotoworld that Dexter McCluster could possibly find it difficult to stay on the Chiefs roster (http://rotoworld.com/player/nfl/5780/dexter-mccluster). Naturally, it's all speculation, but Rotoworld isn't all tha tbad when it comes to reviewing a situation (crowded backfield) and speaking with "insiders" about what's going on behind closed doors. So let's just say that he does get cut...what are your thoughts on adding him to our crowded backfield?

My WR roster predictions... and a link to an fully updated depth chart
Posted my WR predictions on an article yesterday, but it's going to get lost and I found this depth chart link, so here we go.
Kevin Zeitler in very good company...a look at Interior Linemen taken in round 1
There has been an interior lineman (guard or center) drafted in the first round every season since 2001. So how have they done? What kind of future could we expect of our very own round 1 selection at Guard?
.
Here are the interior offensive linemen taken in round 1 since 2001.

I listed Gallery because he ultimately became a guard, and Albert because he was a guard when he was drafted. If you take them out and say they don’t really qualify because they weren’t drafted as guards to play guard, then it’s a very impressive list (even w/them it’s impressive):
.
22 total Pro-Bowl selections among them
33% of them have been First Team All-Pro selections
40% of them have been to multiple Pro-Bowls
47% of them have been to at least 1 Pro-Bowl
.
All of them were instant starters for the teams who drafted them, and played out their careers as starters.
.
Obviously, as the folks who sell mutual funds say, “past performance is no guarantee of future performance”, but... it’s pretty promising indeed for Zeitler.
