As if things weren't complicated enough for the Cincinnati Bengals secondary, four cornerbacks sat during Thursday's practice. Dre Kirkpatrick (knee) is the usual suspect but the growing list includes Leon Hall (calf hamstring), Nate Clements (calf... are you sure?) and now Jason Allen (thigh), who missed every preseason game and the first two regular season contests before finally contributing a handful of snaps on Sunday against the Redskins.
What will the impact be against the Jacksonville Jaguars?
According to Joe Reedy of the Cincinnati Enquirer, defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer "said he anticipated both playing on Sunday in Jacksonville."
Regardless the Bengals released the oft-injured tight end Donald Lee, re-signing defensive back Chris Crocker, who has experience in Mike Zimmer's system. He can play every position in the defensive backfield, providing versatility, as well as filling a void for some veteran leadership that seems to be lacking on defense.
Andrew Whitworth (knee) and Bernard Scott (ankle) practiced during position drills after sitting on Wednesday, however Jeff Faine was out with a hamstring. Carlos Dunlap (knee) and Michael Johnson (foot) were also limited on Thursday.
