Bengals offense finally responds with touchdown

Pat Lovell-USA TODAY Sports

The Packers scored 30 unanswered points before the Bengals finally responded.

Hopefully it's not too little too late.

The Bengals offense are making strides to wipe out the memory of a disastrous first half. After the Packers took a 23-14 lead early in the third quarter, the offense put together a 38-yard possession on eight plays. Though it ended in a punt, it was progressive in that it was neither a turnover or a three and out.

Now the Packers lead 30-14 when the Bengals opened at their own 35-yard line with 5:19 remaining in the third quarter. Following an eight-yard reception by A.J. Green and a 17-yard run by Giovani Bernard, Andy Dalton takes the snap and leads Green (beating Sam Shields by a few steps) down the right sidelines for the 20-yard touchdown.

The Bengals finally respond after the Packers scored 30 unanswered points, reducing the Packers lead to nine points -- not sure why they didn't try the two point conversion. Mike Nugent kicked the football out of bounds, giving Green Bay the ball at their own 40-yard line. Three plays into the drive, Terence Newman intercepted the football, returning it nine yards to the Packers 46-yard line.

Unfortunately the Bengals possession stalls and Mike Nugent pushes a 52-yard attempt wide left.
