Bengals Andy Dalton sets two franchise records against the Ravens

Andy Lyons

Andy Dalton, a second round selection from the '11 draft to replace the disgruntled Carson Palmer, has broken several of Palmer's franchise records for a single-season.

Who would have thought that Andy Dalton would set a franchise mark for most touchdowns in a single-season with all of the "discussions" that have encapsulated Dalton's tenure in Cincinnati.

Andy Dalton tied Carson Palmer's franchise record of 32 passing touchdowns after a 53-yard touchdown throw to A.J. Green with :26 remaining in the first quarter. It wouldn't be long before broke it. Two possessions later with two minutes remaining in the first half, Dalton floated the football over the middle for a diving Marvin Jones, scoring a 16-yard touchdown reception to give Cincinnati a 17-6 half time lead.

The second touchdown gave Dalton 33, breaking Carson Palmer's single-season franchise record for most touchdowns in a single-season. The touchdown also gave Marvin Jones 10 scores on the season, marking the first time that two Bengals players generated double-digit touchdowns in a single-season.

Dalton also broke Carson Palmer's record for most yards passing in a single-season on a seven-yard throw to Alex Smith with 4:41 remaining in the second quarter. That number is still growing.
