Around SBN: Stampede Blue interviews Tony Mandarich Bar-right-arrows

Brooks signs tender and Tab cleared to play.

Greg Brooks signed his one-year, tender offer of $850,000 on Monday. Brooks, a 2004 sixth-round draft pick, has spent most of his career on Injured Reserve. He missed 2004 after a hamstring injury. Brooks, mostly a special teams player, went back on IR in early November, 2006. Brooks becomes the fifth cornerback signed to the off-season roster and 10th in the secondary overall.

Tab Perry, another 2006 injury victim, is finally cleared. Perry is likely to take on a larger role this season. He was an example on why you should take out key contributors in a blowout games.

Carson Palmer's off-season is much more relaxed; and in a sense, purposeful.

"My whole game is a lot of rhythm and timing, as well as Chad’s and T.J.’s and all of our receivers. To have an opportunity to throw with those guys and work with them and on the side work on my fundamentals and mechanics, which is something I’ve gotten away from, it’s something I’m excited about getting back at."

Palmer spent much of the last off-season intensely rehabbing his knee, enjoying coverboy status on SI, and answering the same questions to the Cincinnati press about the progress of his rehab.
