Thurman arrested for drunk driving.

Quick, tell me a way you can take focus off beating our rivals and starting the season undefeated. It was reported last night (early this morning really) that Odell Thurman was busted during an OVI check. Thurman registered a .17 percent blood alcohol content; Ohio law is .08. There were other players in the car.

The identification of other Bengals players riding in the vehicle was not immediately available, Lawson said.

Chris Henry was believed, though not confirmed as one, to be in the car. A third player was believed, though not confirmed and is on IR or the practice squad, to also be in the car.

Tell me, what would be the quickest way to draw attention off the Bengals 28-20 win over the Steelers? I think we found our answer.

Update [2006-9-25 15:20:6 by Kirkendall]:: The Enquirer reports the other players in the car were Chris Henry and Reggie McNeal.

Bengals linebacker Odell Thurman told police he had "a couple of beers" and he was driving because his teammates in the SUV "had more than I did" when he was stopped at 3:05 a.m. today and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Thurman was one of at least three players in a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe stopped by police in the East End. The vehicle is owned by Bengals rookie wide receiver Reggie McNeal, who was a passenger, said a source at the scene. Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry was a passenger and threw up out a window of the vehicle. Neither McNeal nor Henry was cited or charged.
