With Thurman gone from the roster this season, the Bengals signed Andre Frazier; a U.C. and Hughes High School grad. Lewis initially wanted to sign Frazier last season as an undrafted free agent.

"He really excelled on special teams in Pittsburgh last year," said head coach Marvin Lewis. "Unfortunately he got hurt in the AFC championship game. They released him, we were looking for a guy to come in and contribute on special teams and back up our linebackers. He fits the bill. We tried hard to sign him as a free agent after UC and weren't able to do it and now we've got him."
