Carson Palmer named Pro Bowl MVP

OK, I admit it, the final quarter in the Pro Bowl was pretty entertaining. The NFC, with three minutes left, trailed 28-14 when Steven Jackson scored on a four-yard touchdown run. After the failed two-point conversion, the NFC lined up and recovered the onside kick. As Dan Dierdorf said beautifully, "have you ever seen 11 guys on the field hoping the other guy would pick it up?" Tony Romo led the AFC to another touchdown. This time the two-point conversion worked. Score tied at 28.

With 1:48 left in the game, the Carson Palmer led AFC drove to the three-yard line -- with the help of a pass interference against the NFC -- and Nate Kaeding kicked the game winning field goal.

The game's MVP went to Carson Palmer (127.1 passer rating) after completing eight of 17 passes for 190 yards. Palmer's two touchdown passes went for 72 and 42 (Chad Johnson) yards. Chad Johnson finished with three receptions for 70 yards and a touchdown.

Why is Palmer awesome? "It was good to spend time with Peyton and talk to him about some things, but I didn’t want to get too specific and I’m sure he didn’t, either," Palmer said. "We’ll play them again at some point and if he had told me anything about his hand signals or anything like that, the first thing I would have done is go tell the defensive coordinator." Funny.

However, earlier in the game Chad looked like he "over-extended" his knee and was out for awhile. He would later return; mostly running streak routes.
