No matter how awful our season was in 2006, the majority of pollsters agreed: It could have been worse, we could have been Browns fans (31%). The team blowing the season won 29%; 21% thought excuses were for children and agreed; the best teams rise above challenges; 18% thought the season was fine and the adversity was too difficult to overcome. I agree with 100% of you.
Last year I ran a poll asking you what position the team would pick in the first round. Over half thought defensive tackle (54%); tight end came in at 31% and safety was an unconvincing 13%. So I'm asking you again this year; what position will the team pick in the first round. I'll leave the poll up until the draft, so you have plenty of time to think about it.
Saturday I wrote about two of the top cornerbacks in the draft. Today I wanted to scan the "draft expert" sites and put out an average ranking per player. I took six sites, as a small sample size, and averaged them out to make the rankings.
Average Rankings based on six drafting websites at cornerback.
- Leon Hall - 1.33
- Darrelle Revis - 1.83
- Marcus McCauley - 4.16
- Daymeion Hughes - 4.16
- Aaron Ross - 4.83
