This Boston Herald piece discusses that free agent tight end, Daniel Graham, is ready to test the free agency market.
Graham, who was made a captain in midseason, is likely to be the most sought after free agent tight end on a market that will also include San Francisco’s Eric Johnson and Seattle’s Jerramy Stevens. The Bengals are said to be very interested in Graham’s services.
Here's Daniel Graham's production.
Season | Rec. | Yards | TDs |
2002 | 15 | 150 | 1 |
2003 | 38 | 409 | 4 |
2004 | 30 | 364 | 7 |
2005 | 16 | 235 | 3 |
2006 | 21 | 235 | 2 |
Career | 120 | 1,393 | 17 |
For comparisons sake, here's Reggie Kelly's numbers during the same time frame.
Season | Rec. | Yards | TDs |
2002 | 14 | 162 | 0 |
2003 | 13 | 81 | 1 |
2004 | 15 | 85 | 0 |
2005 | 15 | 90 | 1 |
2006 | 21 | 254 | 1 |
Career | 78 | 672 | 3 |
Obviously Graham has better production, but that shouldn't be indicative of expectations. There's a lot of weapons for Palmer. So I would expect, if Graham signs, that his average production would go down. Totally irrelevant: surprisingly, Kelly has played three more seasons but is only one year older.
Patrick Ramsey?
From a Washington Post blog.
The Cincinnati Bengals are one possible landing spot. They were interested in Ramsey last offseason and Coach Marvin Lewis told Redskins owner Daniel Snyder after the trade to the Jets he would have offered a fifth-rounder for the quarterback if he'd known that would have gotten the deal done.
Shooo, that was close. If that trade happened, we would have never drafted Reggie McNeal. Thank god that trade didn't happen. :)
