On Wednesday, the Bengals signed another tight end to a one year deal. Bobby Blizzard's recent resume includes a stint with NFL Europe's Cologne Centurions with "38 receptions for 494 yards and six touchdowns".
In this 2003 North Carolina Tarheels football preview, the article mentioned, "Durant has several good receivers and future NFL-er TE Bobby Blizzard to throw". Blizzard worked a lot as a receiver for the Kentucky Wildcats before transferring to North Carolina and becoming primarily a tight end.
At the end of his college career, Blizzard was a 2003 All-ACC candidate and 2002 All-ACC Honorable-Mention. He finished with 78 receptions, 875 yards receiving for his career. After college, Blizzard signed as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Steelers. He's been a practice squad player in his very limited NFL career.
USA Today says, "It’s unlikely that he’ll make the team."
