Deliberations were halted Wednesday in Jason Shirley's case when a juror told the judge that he would be unable to deliberate the case, due to his own "disabilities. Jurors resumed deliberations Wednesday afternoon...
At around 4:30 p.m., jurors said they were not able to agree on a verdict, but the judge said they had not deliberated long enough with the new juror.
According to an e-mail from defense co-counsel Laura Guzman Magill, "One juror raised his hand and asked how long was enough, and the judge said 'when I say.' So, they were ordered to return tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. and many were visibly upset."
Jurors will try to find a verdict Thursday morning.
