"Benson not drawing much interest"

At some point today, Cedric Benson will meet with Houston Texans officials to gauge their interest. It's apparently clear that Benson will be used in a backup role in an effort to gain some interest on the market, perhaps to drive for a better deal with the Bengals. That's our guess anyway. Otherwise, why would he take less money (we're assuming less) for a backup role. It's noted that he'd return to his home state, but we're not sure how effective that argument holds with other variables contributed to the argument.

Mike Florio points out that there's simply no interest out there in Benson, concluding that there's plenty of good running backs in the draft. A place where the Bengals might eventually look to rebuild their running back depth.
