ESPN's John Clayton is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles are signing former Seattle Seahawks fullback Leonard Weaver to a one-year deal worth $1.75 million, with possible incentives reaching $2.5 million.
How in the world does this possibly affect the Bengals?
Weaver had been talking to the Vikings while Minnesota fullback Naufahu Tahi, a restricted free agent, had been offered a deal by the Cincinnati Bengals. If the Vikings secured Weaver, then there's no reason for them to match the $1.4 million offer sheet that Tahi signed. However, now that the Vikings are without Weaver, it would seem more likely that the Vikings match the Bengals offer, and Cincinnati isn't with a true fullback anymore.
