Bengals defensive end Antwan Odom recently returned to the team after serving a four-game suspension for testing positive for a banned substance. The team was granted a one-week exemption so Odom didn't count against the 53-man roster.
However, he might need more time before he returns to the field.
According to Geoff Hobson, Odom spent his time off having surgery on a broken wrist and "doesn’t expect to be ready for a couple of more weeks." The team's roster exemption expires next week.
Odom played the first four games on the season, going virtually unnoticed with four tackles and no quarterback sacks. Odom, who signed a five-year deal in 2008, is scheduled to earn $3.4 million this season, $4.5 million in 2011 and $5.3 million in 2012. That's called having a return in your investment. And that's called sarcasm.
