Lewis: Carson Palmer is out of his cast and will participate in OTAs/Minicamps

Carson Palmer made me nervous in 2009. Sure, his passes were off at times, but I tend not to blame that fully on him -- lack of wide receiver help kind of hurt him. No, it's when he handed the football off that made me nervous. Specifically, when he handed the football off unorthodoxly with his right hand. I was certain that there would be a fumble on a critical drive to win the football game.

But it didn't happen. And in truth, as the season wore on, I felt less willing to rip my cushions and stab my epic ribs with an oversized butcher knife that would have Michael Myers standing in envy.

After the season, Palmer went under the knife to repair his left thumb. On Monday, Alex Marvez tweets that "Marvin Lewis says Carson Palmer is out of his cast and will participate in OTAs/minicamps."

There was little doubt that Palmer's recovery would take him beyond team activities. Now. Can we hope for a completely healthy Palmer through the preseason (no bloody noses please), the regular season (no bum elbows please) and the postseason (no having knee shredded please).
