With the thirtieth pick in the 2010 Cincy Jungle Mock Draft, the Minnesota Vikings select...

Devin McCourty, CB, Rutgers

After coming so close, yet so far the Vikings find themselves in an interesting position in what to do after losing to Saints in the NFC Championship game. With Antoine Winfield getting up in age, and Cedric Griffin suffering an injury in that game there because a time when they need to start developing the future at cornerback.

In steps Devin McCourty to be the future in the purple and gold. An above average size CB, McCourty shows great instincts and leadership skills that you look for in a player. Although he is not the best at press coverage, because of his lack of great speed, but makes up for it with agility and fluid hip motions to make up for his faults.

He is much better at zone than man at the moment which is why he would most likely start at nickel come September but will be a future starter. His 6 career picks and 27 pass deflections don't make him look like a ball hawk, he does make great plays on the ball. If all that wasn't enough his special teams skills move him into the 1st round with 7 career block FGs.
