If the Bengals want to check out some defensive line prospects, then East Carolina is a good spot to be. For example, defensive tackles Linval Joseph and Jay Ross forced ten defensive line coaches to check out the pair during East Carolina's Pro Day on March 25. In fact, our very good buddy and Bengals defensive line coach Jay Hayes ran the drills, writes Gil Brandt. With Joseph and Ross, other East Carolina prospects included defensive ends C.J. Wilson and Scotty Robinson.
And honestly, the Bengals could be checking out any one of them. C.J. Wilson, Linval Joseph and Scott Robinson recorded double-digit tackles for loss and hit the quarterback 11 times or more in 2009. Wilson and Robinson each recorded five sacks or more.
Players | Tackles | TFL | Sacks | QB Hits | FF |
Linval Joseph | 60 | 13 | 3 | 14 | 0 |
Jay Ross | 47 | 4.5 | 1.5 | 8 | 1 |
C.J. Wilson | 57 | 10.5 | 5.5 | 14 | 2 |
Scott Robinson | 41 | 11.0 | 5.0 | 11 | 1 |

Are these guys future starters? (Who do you think I am, a prophet?) Are these guys a good compliment on the teams roster of defensive linemen, or perhaps fill a pass rushing need in passing situations?
