According to KKTV in Southern Colorado, CSU-Pueblo wide receiver Augustine Agyei received an invite to join the Bengals during the team's rookie minicamp this weekend. This doesn't mean that the Bengals will sign the receiver, or if there's any serious interest. Typically the team likes to have a crowd during rookie minicamp to have a (at least partially) functioning practice with some players doing 7-on-7 (if not 11-on-11) work. Since there's only so many rookies that the Bengals have acquired, they'll need to fill out with rookie invitees.
So why even bring this up? If anything, we're informative -- and sometimes we get really bored and have this obsessive need to post everything we read about the Bengals.
From GoThunderWolves.com:
Agyei, who was an all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference selection with the ThunderWolves in 2009, led the ThunderWolves in receiving, broke all-time school records in kick return yardage and accumulated the third-most all-purpose yards in a single season with 1,261 yards in 2009.
Agyei has been a fashionable pro prospect since showing off his raw physical skills at a Pro Day at the United States Air Force Academy, logging a 4.42 40-yard dash, a nearly 11-foot broad jump, and a 6.6 in three-cone drills, all of which were among the best results of any Division II athlete in skills tests this offseason.
"I'm excited and grateful for the opportunity to pursue my dream," Agyei said. "I'm ready to get after it and prove what I can do."
